ATF 4473 - Form 5300.9 - Updated Version Coming Soon
A new version of the ATF 4473 - Form 5300.9 is being updated to add a new race code of "M" that represents Middle Eastern/North African.
"Please be advised of a necessary change that occurred for direct E-Check users to the Race code selection field. On September 30, 2025, the NICS Section made an urgent update to the NICS by adding a new required Race code to the system. The code of “M” represents the choice for Middle Eastern/North African to be selected as required by other users of the NICS. This code is not located on the current version of the ATF Form 4473 but is proposed for the new version currently being adapted."
