ATF is Accepting SOT Renewals for 2022

Starting April 15th, 2022, our office will begin accepting payments for SOT for the 2023 tax year. Any payment received prior to April 15th will be refunded for the 2023 tax year. You may still mail in payments using ATF form 5630.7, but we urge you to begin using Pay.Gov.

Please see instructions for accessing PAY.GOV to pay for your SOT.

Federal firearms licensees (FFLs) who engage in importing, manufacturing, or dealing in National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms can now file and pay for the required special occupational tax (SOT) online in just 4 Steps!

  1. Go to Pay.Gov (https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/885694833)
  2. Complete the ATF Special Occupational Tax (SOT) ATF Form 5630.7 (OMB# 1140-0090) Fillable Electronic Form
  3. Choose & Enter Payment Information from expanded payment options:
  4. Bank Account (ACH)
  5. Debit or credit card
  6. Amazon account
  7. PayPal account
  8. Review & Submit

Received by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms And Explosives, April 15th, 2022, Our Office Will Begin Accepting Payments for SOT for the 2023 Tax Year, Mar. 2022.
