FREE TAX STAMPS HAVE ARRIVED



President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law on July 4th, 2025.  SEC. 70436. REDUCTION OF TRANSFER AND MANUFACTURING TAXES FOR CERTAIN DEVICES of the OBBB has an efffective date of 90 days after the end of this quarter. That puts the law going into effect on January 1, 2026, shown below.   However, there are no details on when the ATF Forms will be revised and the timeline for January 1, 2026.  We will keep updating this page when updates are available.

  • Official Release - ATF eForm's Site is "still working" meaning, you can still use the ATF eForm's site to view approvals, update your profile, etc.  But ATF eForm submissions are halted until January 1, 2026 while the ATF updates the ATF eForm system for the $0 tax stamps.

  • SilencerCo's $200 Big Beautiful Credit. SilencerCo is offering $200 in store credit per suppressor purchased between July 4 – August 31, 2025. Multiple purchases qualify for multiple credits (e.g., 2 suppressors = $400 credit).
    To receive the credit, customers must apply by September 15, 2025. The credit must be used before it expires on November 15, 2025. **SEE BELOW EXTENDED**

  • CONGRESSIONAL RECORD - SENATE S4543 - Senator Murphy submits a proposed amendment to bill H.R. 3944 to effectively raise the tax for making or trasnferring an NFA firearm to be $4,709, instead of the $200 current tax stamp cost.  According to Senate Vote History on H.R. 3944, on August 1st, 2-25, the overall bill H.R. 3944 passed with a vote of 87-9.  But the S.Amdt.2973 of concern were submitted but not sent to the floor to vote or debate on.  They were tabled.  That means that S.Amdt.2973 apparently will not be voted on or submitted in their current form.  More information can be found here.

  • ATF Releases 2024 Fact Sheet - Facts and Figures for Fiscal Year 2024 - Total NFA Making and Transfer Tax Collected in 2024 - $145,072,242.  
  • The ATF will be loosing millions of dollars of funding if the transfer and making of an NFA firearm excise tax goes to $0, at the same time increasing applications.  How will that effect tax stamp approval times?
