Trust Names with Special Characters can't use ATF eForm 4 Application

An issue with gun trust's names was recently discovered.  The ATF eForm 4 won't allow you to type in most special characters in the transferee's name.  Unfortunately, if your gun trust name has any of the following characters in the name of the gun trust you will see an error: !,&,@,#,$,%,^,*,(,),_.+,=, and '.  If your gun trust has any of those characters in the trust name, you won't be able to use the ATF eForm 4 application.  As of January 2026, this is an issue.  The ATF may fix this issue during a Wednesday revision.  But there is no timeline for the fix.  If your gun trust name has one of the characters that isn't allowed, you would only be able to apply using the paper ATF Form 4.
