ATF Rule: Definition of “Engaged in the Business” as a Dealer in Firearms"

The ATF recently added an update of the Definition of “Engaged in the Business” as a Dealer in Firearms".  The definition of "engaged in the business" as a dealer in firearms means that a person devotes time, attention, and labor to regularly buying and selling firearms with the primary objective of earning a profit through repetitive purchase and resale. The number of actual sales is not a requirement, but the intent to predominantly earn a profit is essential. This definition includes activities conducted through various mediums such as gun shows, online platforms, or at any other marketplace. It also excludes individuals who make occasional sales for personal collection enhancement or hobby purposes.
