Do You Need to Send Your Gun Trust to the ATF Before You Apply for a Tax Stamp?

We get asked where you will need to send your gun trust to after the gun trust is notarized, signed and dated.  Does the gun trust need to be "pre-approved" before you can apply for a tax stamp?  The answer to both questions is no.  After your gun trust is notarized, signed and dated you won't send your gun trust to the ATF to be pre-approved.  You will only send your gun trust to the ATF when the gun trust applies for a tax stamp.  During the application process with the ATF, the ATF will review your gun trust alongside your application.  Each time the gun trust applies for a tax stamp, the gun trust will need to submit a current copy of the gun trust, unless you are going to use the 24 month exemption
