NICS NFA (Tax Stamp Application) Background Check Delays

According to the "Ask the Experts" there are an increasing amount of background checks to going into a delay status due to current demand that NICS [National Instant Criminal Background Check System] has.

"The NICS Section has experienced unprecedented high volumes of incoming transactions requiring the escalation and relocation of NICS employees as we strive for the timely resolution of incoming NICS transactions.  As a result, backlogs in other areas of processing have occurred.  One of those areas is the processing of the National Firearm Act (NFA) background checks. Currently, the NICS Section's processing date for NFA background checks is June 2020 (as of blog publishing).  The NICS section is making every effort to process NFA checks when the volume permits."
