Tax Stamp Proof of Registration - Can the ATF request your Tax Stamp?

Yes, the ATF can request proof of registration, e.g. your tax stamp.  This information can be found on the ATF Form 1, ATF eForm 1, ATF Form 4 and the ATF Form 5 in the "Important Information for Currently Registered Firearms" which is page 3 of the respective tax stamp application. We include the description below:

Proof of Registration: A person possessing a firearm registered as required by the NFA shall retain proof of registration which shall be made available to any ATF officer upon request.
